Five years of cover, written down
Two years of free replacement, then three years at a pro-rata discount on a new unit. We track the serial number of every device we sell, so placing your unit is never the hard part.
- 5 yearstotal cover from purchase
- 24 monthsfree replacement, no charge
- Serial-trackedevery device we sell
Two phases
The five years split into a free period and a pro-rata period. Which one you are in depends only on the age of the device.
Free replacement
For the first two years, a device that fails is replaced free of cost. There is nothing to pay and no proportion to work out.
Pro-rata replacement
From the third year to the fifth, you get a new Windbooster device at a discount on the prevailing maximum retail price. The discount is largest at the start of year three and steps down as the device gets older.
What you pay, by age of device
Find the age of your device in the left column. The figure is the discount you receive on a new Windbooster device.
| Age of device | You receive | On what |
|---|---|---|
| 0 – 24 months | Free | |
| 25 – 33 months | 40% | |
| 34 – 36 months | 35% | |
| 37 – 39 months | 30% | |
| 40 – 42 months | 25% | |
| 43 – 45 months | 20% | |
| 46 – 60 months | 15% |
Cover runs from the date of purchase and ends at 60 months. Discounts in the third to fifth year apply to a new Windbooster device at the prevailing maximum retail price at the time of the claim. Devices bought from a partner need the dealer invoice; devices bought directly from us do not.
Two ways to start
Either route works. Going back to the partner who fitted it is usually quickest, because they can check the installation at the same time.
Go back to the partner who fitted it
Take the car to the shop that installed your Windbooster GT, along with the invoice they gave you. They can confirm the fault is the device rather than the fitting, and raise the claim with us on your behalf.
Contact us directly
Message or call UGLARE INFRATRONICS and we will handle it from our end. This is the right route if you bought directly from us, have moved city, or the shop that fitted it is no longer trading.
What to have ready
- The serial number on the deviceWe keep a record of the serial number of every unit we sell.
- Your dealer invoice, if you bought from a partnerRequired — but if you cannot find it, contact us anyway and we will try to help.
- Your car’s make, model and yearSo we can send the right connector with the replacement.
- What the device is doingA short video or photo of the display saves a lot of back and forth.
Before you claim, check the fitting
A surprising share of faults turn out to be a connector that is not fully seated rather than a device that has failed — and that is a five-minute fix rather than a replacement.
If the display is dead, the pedal feels wrong or the car has gone into limp mode, work through the checks on the installation page first.
What is not covered
The warranty covers a device that fails in normal use. It does not cover a device that has been damaged, and these are the cases we see.
Physical damage
Impact, crushing, a cut or pulled cable, or a connector damaged by being forced. This includes damage caused during a fitting that ignored the instructions.
Water and moisture
Water ingress of any kind, including flooding of the footwell, a leaking windscreen or door seal, and cleaning that lets water into the unit.
Opening the unit
A device that has been opened, taken apart or tampered with is outside the warranty, whoever did it. If something seems wrong, send it to us rather than looking inside.
If you are not sure which side of the line your situation falls on, send us the serial number and a photo before assuming the worst. We would rather look at it than have you write the device off.
Common warranty questions
Do I get my money back, or a replacement?
A replacement. In the first 24 months it is free of cost. From month 25 to month 60 you receive a new Windbooster device at the discount shown in the table above, applied to the maximum retail price at the time.
Do I need my invoice to claim?
It depends where you bought it. If you bought from one of our partners, yes — we need the dealer invoice to confirm the date of purchase and the amount you were billed. If you bought directly from UGLARE, no — we already hold the record of that sale, and the serial number on the device is enough.
Lost the invoice? Do not assume you are out of cover. Send us the serial number and tell us which partner you bought from, and we will try to trace the sale through our own records and the partner. Get in touch before you give up on it.
Does the warranty follow the device or the owner?
The device. Cover runs on the age of the unit, so if you sell the car with the Windbooster still fitted, the remaining cover goes with it.
Is the warranty affected if I fitted it myself?
No. Windbooster GT is designed to be a plug-in fitting and self-installation is expected. What is not covered is damage caused by forcing a connector or by fitting that ignores the instructions, which is one reason we suggest a partner fitting if you are unsure.
Can I move the device to my next car?
It depends on the pedal, not on the car. If your next car uses the same accelerator pedal, the same device will work.
If it uses a different pedal, changing the connector alone will not work. Each device is matched to the voltage characteristics of a specific pedal, so a different pedal needs a different device. Tell us the make, model and year of both cars and we will confirm before you move anything.
Either way, the warranty stays with the device and runs on its age.
What happens after five years?
Cover ends at 60 months. We will still help you with fitting questions and connectors after that, but replacements are at full price.
