Fit it yourself in about 15 minutes
Windbooster GT sits between your accelerator pedal and its factory connector. Nothing is cut, nothing is spliced and no coding is needed — and it comes back out just as easily as it went in.

Take care with the factory plug
The pins inside your car’s accelerator connector are thin and bend easily. A bent pin can put the car into limp mode and means the pedal assembly has to be repaired. Work slowly, pull the plug straight out, and never force anything.
Some cars need the plastic trim or the pedal assembly itself moved to reach the connector. If you are not sure, remove the pedal assembly properly rather than working at an angle — or let one of our fitting partners do it.
What you need
- Your Windbooster GT and the connector for your carSupplied matched to your model — check it before you start.
- Somewhere to sit or kneel in the driver’s footwellA torch and a cushion make this much easier.
- A cloth and isopropyl alcohol or a degreaserFor cleaning the dash before the display goes on.
- Trim tools, if your car needs the lower dash panel removedMost cars do not.
Before the first step
- Switch the engine off and take the key outOn a push-button car, make sure the car is fully off, not in accessory mode.
- Park somewhere level with the handbrake on
- Give yourself roomSlide the driver’s seat fully back.
- Set aside 15–30 minutesFifteen is typical. Allow longer the first time.
Five steps, start to finish
This is the whole job. Follow the order and do not rush the connector.
Find the factory fly-by-wire connector
It sits on top of the accelerator pedal assembly, in the driver’s footwell. On most cars you can reach it without taking the pedal assembly out.
If the connector is awkward to reach, remove the pedal assembly instead of working blind. Misaligning the plug can put the car into limp mode and damage the pedal assembly.
Unplug the factory connector
Release the clip and pull the plug straight off the pedal assembly. Do not twist it or lever it sideways — that is what bends the pins.
Plug the Windbooster into the pedal
Push the Windbooster GT connector onto the top of the pedal assembly, into the socket the factory plug just came off. It should seat squarely and click home without force.
Plug the factory connector into the Windbooster
Now connect the car’s original fly-by-wire plug into the back of the Windbooster. The signal from your pedal now runs through the unit. That is the electrical side finished.
Mount the control unit and tidy the cable
Choose a spot on the dash where you can reach the buttons and read the display without it catching your eye at night. The unit has 3M adhesive tape already on the back — clean the surface thoroughly first, then press it firmly into place.
Route the cable clear of the pedals, the steering column and anything that moves. It must never touch or restrict the pedals.
Think about night driving
The display is lit. Mount it where it is easy to glance at but not sitting in your line of sight through the windscreen after dark.
Clean the surface properly
Dashboards treated with silicone-based polish or dressing will not hold the adhesive. Wipe the spot with isopropyl alcohol and let it dry before pressing the unit on.
Keep the cable out of the way
Tuck it behind trim and secure it so it cannot drop into the footwell or foul the pedals while you are driving.
Check it before you go anywhere
Switch on and confirm
- Turn the ignition on. The display should light up.
- Press the pedal fully and let it back up — the reading should rise and fall smoothly.
- Set the mode you want. The unit remembers it the next time you start the car.
- Take a short drive somewhere quiet and get used to the response before normal traffic.
If something is not right
A warning light, a dead pedal or the car going into limp mode almost always means the connector is not seated properly or a pin has bent.
- Switch the car off.
- Unplug the Windbooster and plug the factory connector straight back onto the pedal assembly.
- Check both sets of pins carefully for damage.
- If the fault clears, refit slowly. If it does not, stop and call us.
Removing it takes five minutes
Nothing about the installation is permanent. Unplug the Windbooster, reconnect the factory plug to the pedal assembly and the car is exactly as it was — useful when you sell the car, hand it to a valet, or move the unit to your next one.
The only thing left behind is the adhesive pad on the dash, which lifts off with a little heat.
Would you rather someone else did it?
We have 45 trained fitting partners across 15 states. They stock connectors for the popular Indian cars, will fit it while you wait and can demo the modes with you afterwards.
Common questions about fitting
Will this void my car’s warranty?
Windbooster GT plugs into the existing accelerator connector and cuts nothing. It is removable in minutes and leaves no trace on the wiring, which is why it is treated as an accessory rather than a modification. If your manufacturer or dealer has a specific policy, check with them first.
Do I need to code or program anything?
No. There is no diagnostic tool, no software and no coding. Plug it in, mount the display and set a mode.
Will it throw a check engine light?
Not when fitted correctly. A warning light after fitting nearly always means a connector is not fully seated or a pin is bent — unplug, inspect and refit as described above.
Does it work with cruise control and automatic gearboxes?
Yes. Windbooster GT only changes how your pedal input is delivered. Cruise control, the gearbox and all your car’s own driver aids carry on working normally.
Can I move it to another car later?
It depends on the pedal, not on the car. If your next car uses the same accelerator pedal, the same device will work.
If it uses a different pedal, changing the connector alone will not work. Each device is matched to the voltage characteristics of a specific pedal, so a different pedal needs a different device. Tell us the make, model and year of both cars and we will confirm before you move anything.
What if my car is not on your connector list?
Message us with your model and year. We stock connectors for most cars sold in India and can confirm before you buy.
